Each used bar runs from the 25th to the 75th percentile of that version's asking prices, so half its listings fall inside it, and the dot marks the median. The supplier quotes your exact part, shipping and warranty.

Which E4OD do you have?
E4OD
Used from 1989 in F-Series pickups and the Econoline, from 1990 in the Bronco, and in the 1997–1998 Expedition and F-150 with the 5.4L V8. It was the only transmission in the 1993–1995 SVT Lightning.

The 1998 update with stronger internals for the Power Stroke diesel. Listings sometimes mix the two names, so confirm which one your vehicle was built with.

- E4OD, C6 or AOD? Ford sold all three in F-Series trucks of these years. Hollander's 1995 F-150 list includes the E4OD, the 4R70W and manuals; the 1996 F-250 list includes the C6. Your VIN settles it.
- Match engine and drive. Used-yard listings split the E4OD by engine (4.9L, 5.0L, 5.8L, 7.3L diesel, 7.5L) and by 2WD or 4WD. Give the supplier the engine as well as the year.
- Expect high mileage. These trucks are decades old. Ask for the donor's mileage and how the unit was checked.
- Get mileage, testing and warranty in writing. Ask for the warranty term and the freight cost to your ZIP before you pay.

E4OD questions
How much does a used E4OD transmission cost?
Used-yard asking prices for an E4OD typically ran $725 to $3,596 on October 22, 2026. That range runs from the lowest version's 25th percentile to the highest version's 75th percentile, across 9 versions (479 priced listings). Remanufactured units were listed from $2,599 to $2,799 (41 offers). Prices vary by version, mileage and shipping, so the supplier quotes your exact part.
Is the E4OD the same as the 4R100?
The 4R100 is the E4OD updated in 1998 with stronger internal parts, then renamed. Quote the version your truck was built with and confirm by VIN.
Which trucks have an E4OD?
1989–1997 F-Series pickups (and the 1997–1998 F-150 with the 5.4L V8), the 1990–1996 Bronco, the 1989–1998 Econoline and the 1997–1998 Expedition 5.4L. Not every truck of those years has one, so check your VIN.
Is the E4OD electronically controlled?
Yes. It was Ford's first electronically controlled automatic, built from C6 parts with electronic shift controls and a fourth gear added.
